Alfredo Paixão Musician

BASS TALK
For the past 4 years or so,i'm using the most suitable gear available for playing jazz with an electric bass.
A lot of old minded musicians still think that jazz is about double bass, nothing farest from thruth than that.
In fact you can and should play jazz with anything you have at your disposal, man jazz is improvisation.
Alfredo Paixão is one of the most in-demand and respected bass players in Italy and beyond. Son of a well-known saxophone player, he stars to play very young and in 1974 he graduated in classic guitar in Brasilia. His references at that time were Elis Regina, Cesar Camargo Mariano, Francio Hime, Dori Cayimmi, Ivan Lin. His roots are very traditional, he’s , in fact, the grandson of Moacir Santos, one ofthe Masters of MPB. He moved in the States to widen his musical and vocational training, studying with Bunny Brunnel and Mick Goodrick.
His expansive resume of recordings includes "Corazon partio" and "El alma al aire" by Alejandro Sanz, both of which won Latin Grammy awards and sold millions of copies worldwide, Nina Pastori's "Canailla" and Vicente Amigo's "La ciudad de las ideas" (also a Latin Grammy winner). Alfredo has also recorded with Armando Manzanero, Ketama, Pino Daniele, Laura Pausini, to name only a few. "World Rhythm", "Ogum", "Outra vez", "Fala Baixo", "Rodamoinho" are some of his recordings as a soloist. "Little Lies" is the CD where Alfredo shows his true passion for jazz. Improvisation is is the source of inspiration, the most natural and exciting way for Alfredo to develop ideas.
Photography
I really think that music is about photography !
Obviously I'm not the first thinking about that (Jobim was one of them as well), but what I'm trying to accompplish here is exploring how they can interact on a effective way while the musician composes and performs.
As a great observer,at least I try to be one,I've noticed that photoshop is the most advanced program for the modern creator.
It overwhelm us with so many possibilities, that the weakest link of the chain are very often ourselves.
So I'm trying to apply some of the graphic concepts involved in photography and design,to explore new approaches in music
principally improvisation.
I'm a novice photographer but an "veteran" musician, and I can say for sure that they interact very well.
